Consultancy Virtualisation
Although virtualisation is a recognised strategy for cutting costs, many virtualisation applications come with premium price tags. Canonical's consultants deliver enterprise-ready virtualisation systems that are truly affordable, so you can enjoy cutting-edge technology without breaking the bank. And because Ubuntu's virtualisation technology is open source, you get greater flexibility and versatility than that offered by proprietary solutions.
Plan
Canonical consultants assess the potential for improving economy and efficiency in your environment, reviewing power consumption, data centre space and the use of systems administrators' time. Your infrastructure is assessed to define which systems will benefit from consolidation. The next step is to plan capacity for a virtualised environment, outlining solutions that will optimise existing systems and business resources.
Your consultant will document potential solutions so the implementation processes are defined and easy to understand.
Proof of concept
Once a solution has been outlined, we run a proof of concept to demonstrate how you can migrate your physical systems to a virtualised platform. This provides an opportunity to test the performance of the virtualised platform, such as support for efficient live migrations, giving you greater confidence in deploying the proposed system.
Careful transfer of knowledge about virtualisation best practices also means that your teams will make the most of your new technology from day one.
Deploy and optimise
When deploying into production our technical consultants help you side-step potential issues. They ensure that your implementation is configured to deliver maximum gains and help you set up a monitoring and reporting system to effortlessly manage your virtual environment.
We also help you maintain optimised systems by showing you how to overcome the sprawl that can occur with virtual images, and how to easily maintain multiple images so they remain up-to-date.
